Egyptian rice pudding; the same like restaurants.
Egypt is popular with its rice pudding restaurants. It is a sweet delicious dish of rice and milk pudding that is served as a dessert or as a light breakfast. It is also served in baby showers in Egypt. Rice pudding is popular in other countries such as Spain and known as "Arroz con leche", but it is totally different from Egyptian pudding.
In this blog, I am giving you a perfect rice pudding recipe the same like restaurants, so you can make it clean at home without suffering from any gastroenteritis. Let's do it;
Ingredients:
½ cup of short grain rice or Egyptian rice.
2 ½ cups of milk.
2 ½ cups of water.
½ cup sugar.
½ cup whipping cream.
1 teaspoon vanilla.
2 tablespoon corn starch.
1 teaspoon milk powder.
Preparation:
Soak ½ cup rice in ½ cup milk and ½ cup water for 1 hr.
In a deep pan, add 2 cups of water over medium high heat, then add the soaked rice with milk and water “don’t remove milk and water”.
Stir with a spoon for 10 min or until water evaporates.
Add 2 cups of milk, ½ cup of sugar, vanilla and stir for 2 min.
Melt corn starch and milk powder in whipping cream then pour it over rice.
Stir for another 10 min or until favorable thickness achieved.
You can serve it plain or add any nuts you love for decoration.
