Kabob in pan; a traditional Egyptian dish.
Grilled kabob is an international popular dish, but not many people know about kabob in pan dish. Kabob in pan is a mouthwatering traditional Egyptian dish. It is a kabob with special sauce and it served with rice and pita bread.
Kabob in pan recipe is non fancy and easy. Let's do it;
Ingredients:
500 gm beef meat cut in pieces.
2 moderate chopped onion.
½ teaspoon paprika powder.
½ teaspoon black pepper.
1 teaspoon allspice.
½ teaspoon dried coriander.
½ tablespoon salt or for taste.
1 cup of water.
1 tablespoon ghee or butter.
1 charcoal piece.
Foil paper.
Oil.
Preparation:
In a mixing bowl, mix the meat with all seasoning except salt and leave it for 15 min.
In a deep pan, add ghee and chopped onion over medium heat and cook until onion is yellow. Add meat and stir for 10 min or until meat is brown.
Add ¼ cup of water and cook over low heat. When water is evaporated, add another ¼ cup and repeat until you finish 1 cup or until meat is fully cooked, then add salt and stir.
Heat the charcoal and put it in a foil paper then place it in the middle of the pan and add 2 drops of oil over charcoal. Leave the charcoal for 5 min then remove it and serve the dish.
