Fast and delicious Basmati rice recipe.

Basmati rice is not an original Egyptian dish as Egypt is popular with its short grain rice only. Basmati has become popular since two decades. It passed to Egypt through Egyptians who worked in Saudi Arabia and Arabic Golf. Nowadays, basmati rice become one of the most popular dishes that is served in Egyptian tables and in restaurants.

Basmati rice is healthy and delicious, let's do it;

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups basmati rice; washed and soaked for 1 hr.

  • 3 cups chicken or meat broth; salted and seasoned.

  • 2 small chopped tomatoes.

  • 1 moderate chopped onion.

  • ½ tablespoon salt.

  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder.

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper.

  • ½ teaspoon allspice.

  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon.

  • Oil.

Preparation:

  • In a deep pan, add chopped onion to oil then cook over medium high heat until onion is yellow then add chopped tomato.

  • Pour chicken or meat soup “you can add cooked chicken or meat with soup”.

  • Add all seasoning.

  • Add rice and cook over medium high heat for 2 min, then cook over low heat for 10 min or until fully cooked.
